Burglary through ground floor window

8.000 Euro Beute

A recent incident in Krailling in the Starnberg district, demonstrates the necessity of burglary prevention measures. A couple experienced a decidedly unpleasant return home on Friday evening, December 5, 2025, at approximately 11:45 p.m. When the residents returned from a short trip, their detached house on Albrecht-Dürer-Straße had already been ransacked.

At least two as yet unidentified perpetrators had previously broken in through a ground-floor window. They then apparently took their time: all the cupboards in the house were systematically searched. The thieves made off with loot from several rooms – including high-quality wristwatches, a DSLR camera, clothing, and even an expensive hairdryer. Their motto seemed to be: take anything that wasn’t nailed down.

The damage amounts to approximately 8,000 euros. Traces at the scene indicate that the burglars ultimately left the house through the patio door, heading towards the garden (Source: Wochenblatt Würmtal 50/2025).

This case illustrates the importance of effective burglary prevention measures. Especially during the darker months, when houses are left unlit earlier and absences are harder to conceal, burglars are in their prime. Specifically, a typical weak point was revealed: the ground-floor window served as the point of entry. Windows and patio doors are classic weak points that burglars can overcome within seconds – if they are not properly secured.
