The Schlosspark Laim Villa Colony is located, surprisingly, in the Laim district of Munich. The southern boundary of the colony is defined by Agnes-Bernauer-Straße. The western boundary is Agricolaplatz, which is connected to the villa colony by an archway and a path. The main access road to the development is Vohburger Straße, which runs right through the colony.
The Schlosspark Laim Villa Colony was founded in 1912. A large, green meadow between Munich and the then-municipality of Pasing was used to build the colony. This meadow was located near Laimer Schlössel, directly on Agnes-Bernauer-Straße. The developer was the Neuwestend AG land development company.
The name of the new colony was intended to evoke the garden city concept. Although the Schlosspark Laim villa colony wasn’t actually built on the grounds of a palace park, the entire complex is designed in a palace park style.
This beautiful development is considered an excellent example of a single-family terraced housing estate, a type of housing often built in a similar style at the beginning of the 20th century.
